Southend Pier 2008

Plans to revitalise the pier again appeared in 2008, the scheme was set to cost £50million. A new shore end pavilion was designed to house a restaurant, banqueting suite and a new home for the pier museum.

The proposed shore pavilion At the Pier Head it was envisioned that a complete rebuild would be undertaken to include a new station, pavilion, theatre, cinema and an observation tower.

The plans were an updated proposal by Epic World Leisure who originally submitted the Atlantis & Swine Roller coaster scheme, the roller coaster was also included in the plans.
